Greater Canandaigua Civic Center is hosting OT Hockey again this season. This Spring League was a large success last year. OT Hockey is a spring hockey program following the exciting NHL Overtime hockey format or pond hockey style format. This is a fast-paced, half ice or full ice (age level dependent), pond hockey style type of play that players and spectators enjoy.
Overtime or OT Hockey League is a premier Spring Hockey League offered to support hockey in the greater Rochester area and Finger Lakes region. All players are welcome from across our extended hockey region.
It is our intent to field competitive teams at various age levels (dependent upon registration).
The game surface will vary depending upon age level (i.e. younger ages will play 4-v-4 half ice or full ice, where as, older age levels will play 3-v-3 on full ice surface).
The OT Hockey League will be held at the GCCC ‘Rink’ from Monday, February 27th to Thursday, March 30th. Games will be scheduled between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
Each participant will play two times per week on their assigned team; each game is 50 minutes. This league will run for Five weeks and each player will play a total of ten games.
The cost to participate in this fast-paced and creative league is $100 for RWB age level and $120 for Squirt to Midget age levels.
Players will register as individual players and will be placed on teams in such a way as to create equally balanced teams. Individual team requests will be considered, but are not guaranteed. It is important to create balanced teams to ensure fair competition.
The plan is for the younger Divisions (SQ & PW) to play 4v4 following pond hockey style rules (goalies are TBD as we may run league at younger ages using pond hockey goals versus nets and goalies). The older Divisions (Bantam and Midget levels) will play 3v3 on full sheet of ice following Overtime Hockey rules. It is our hope and plan to have approximately 12 players per team at SQ & PW ages and 9 players per team at BT & MD ages.
