However, it’s best to check our Ice Schedule page to view the current events to ensure the building is open and ready for your visit.  There is always staff on hand when an event is ongoing, but the building may not be open, or staff may not be on-site if there are no events scheduled.

Usually, around age 3 or 4 is a good age for toddlers to try ice skating for the first time.  This doesn’t mean you can’t take your child ice skating earlier, though.  You can try if you want to see how they’ll react to being on the ice and how they’ll behave at the rink, but an average 4-year-old will pick up skating faster than an average 2 or 3-year-old.  The Canandaigua Knights Youth Hockey and Learn to Skate programs generally start beginner skaters at age 4 as part of their programs.  Both organizations offer hockey or skater programs that do not require any prior skating or hockey experience.

Our hockey or skating programs offer online registration through our Registration Portal, but most events also allow for walk-in registration at the time of the event.  Keep in mind, though, that some events may sellout from online sales.
